Growing Like a Weed

Hi There!!!! So, I thought I was going to have so much time on my hands to blog and post pictures. HA! Turns out I am lucky to get out of the house some days. I usually don’t get in the shower until noon. However, Julian is worth every minute of work. He is growing like a weed. He is going to be 7 weeks old on Monday, October 27th. He weighed in at 11 lbs, 2 oz at his Dr.’s appt this week. Mark and I are having so much fun with him. He just started smiling in the last couple of weeks, which is so much fun to watch. He loves to look at his Daddy’s closet for some reason, he is very intrigued by Mark’s clothes! Another great milestone is that he started sleeping 6 1/2 hours straight through the night. Mom is starting to feel like a human being again.
We took a trip to Los Angeles for our friends wedding and then spent 10 days with my mom and Dad. It was great and SUNNY. 75 – 86 degrees the entire time I was there. Us Seattlites really appreciate the sun. Grandma and Grandpa Shaw rolled out the red carpet for Julian, my mom practically had a nursery set up for the boy! She gave him some good Grandma love!
We are super excited for Uncle David’s visit this Wednesday. It will be the first time he has seen baby Julian. I am looking forward to some good laughs and some good food if Uncle David can be convinced to make us some mealsl (-:
Next month we head to Chi town to see the entire Hollywood family. They are so excited to see the babe and I can’t wait for them to meet him. I will definitely post pictures from our visit! Hope this finds you all well….Love, Nicky

The eagle has landed: Julian David Hollywood arrives!
He has finally arrived, our new best friend: Julian David Hollywood. He was born on Monday, 9/8 at 5:30 PM. He is 20 inches long. Labor was fairly easy….after the epidural that is. I give serious props to any woman who gives birth naturally, I could not have done it without the drugs.
It’s been a great ride, he is officially 6 days old today. Mark and I are in such of awe of him. You can’t even express the love you feel in your heart. It’s the best thing I have ever done in my life. Mark is such an amazing father. He has been there with me every step of the way.
My mom and Dad arrived the day after Julian was born and have been a godsend. Those of you that know Sandy Shaw, know that it doen’t get much better than her. She will go to the ends of the earth for him and holds and burps him all day long. My dad has been a huge help with Lily. As you might imagine, we don’t have much time for her right now and Grandpa Shaw is making sure Lily gets her daily exercise and all of the love she is so used to!
Julian does a lot of sleeping, eating and pooping right now. With each day he is becoming more alert and wide eyed.
We are watching him closely right now as he was born with Jaundice, he is on the high side of normal so we have not had to subject him to phototherapy, but we might have to soon. He still looks a little yellow. I have to say it makes his complexion look really nice…has a little tan that mommy and daddy don’t have!
Attached our some pictures of our little bundle of joy! All of my love to family and friends who have been so supportive and excited for us as we begin this new chapter in our lives. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
Still Waiting for Baby……
Just a quick check in. I officially have 4 weeks and 2 days until my due date. I have this feeling he is going to be a little early……A little wishful thinking on my part. We have had a ton of visitors/guests over the last several weeks so it has made the time go by quick.
Waiting for Baby
I am 5 weeks away from my due date (9/9/08) and so excited to meet our little baby boy. I have been so restless lately, I just can’t wait any longer. I feel like a 5 year old the night before christmas. I have posted a couple of “bump” photos to remind me how far I have come and how little I have left to go.
